It’s a mild laxative and very effective against intestinal disorders. It’s also used to treat cough, asthma and abundant secretion in the bronchi.
The Latin name of the genus “Althea” comes from “althein” meaning “to heal”. The leaves, roots and flowers of the plant can be used for healing and well-being purposes.
